Howard Large, one of the last surviving members of the Essex Kent Scottish Regiment who fought in the bloody Second World War battle of Dieppe, died earlier this week. He was 96.

Canadian Army and Essex Scottish veteran Howard Large survived the deadly beaches of Dieppe, France during Second World War.  Pte. Large was wounded in action and several times looked death in the eye, only to be captured and become a POW.
