After a ducking in the Detroit River and heavy work by cranes and diving equipment, a railway tank car was brought from the water  and yard operations were restored to normal. The tank car slipped off the car ferry in 1958. (FILES/The Windsor Star)

From The Vault: Victoria Day Fireworks

The fireworks display at Greenacres Park in St. Clair Beach capped off a day of pre-Victoria Day festivities on Sunday May 17, 1981. The party began at 2 p.m. with picnics, games for the whole family and a visit by the Knight of Columbus clown troupe. Then shortly after sunset the crowd of over 3,000 watched a 40-minute fireworks display.
